A note from the Superintendent;

Dear Students, Families, and Staff,

Welcome back! The first day of school is Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and we are excited to start the new year together.

This year, we will continue shaping a positive school culture by using the Capturing Kids’ Hearts process in every classroom and campus. That means building strong relationships, practicing respect, and creating a safe and welcoming environment where every student feels valued. We believe that when students feel connected and cared for, they are ready to learn and thrive.

To our students, set big goals, take care of each other, and remember that your teachers and principals are here to help you succeed.

To our families and staff, thank you for being such an important part of our KFCS community. Together, we will make the 2025–2026 school year one filled with growth, learning, and success.

We can’t wait to see everyone back in school on September 2. Let’s make it a great year!

Regards;

Keith A. Brown

KFCS Admin, Teachers Begin First Steps With Capturing Kids' Hearts

sdfsdfsdf

Administrators and teachers at all of our schools had a Capturing Kids' Hearts training Wednesday at Running Y Resort.

Capturing Kids' Hearts Leadership Development Strategist, Ron Fox, and three fellow members of the CKH staff helped with the training.

A highlight of the day was a game of rock, paper, scissors but with a twist. Once someone lost, they were instructed to cheer on the fellow staff member they lost to, eventually leading to decide a winner in each conference room.

Fox and his fellow CKH staff encouraged KFCS staff the activity could be used as an ice breaker in classrooms, with the idea of encouraging support within staff and fellow students.

KFCS Classified Staff Thrive in Capturing Kids' Hearts Training

sdasasd

Classified staff at Klamath Falls City Schools were left motivated and impacted after a Capturing Kids' Hearts training Thursday at Running Y Resort.

There were various different group activities but one stood out.

KFCS staff were separated into groups of 10 people. The activity began with blowing up a balloon by each member, who then added it to a plastic bag. The next exercise followed with keeping the bag of balloons up in the air, counting how many times the bag was touched without falling.

The last activity changed team chemistry as a small ball of weight was added to the bag, making it nearly impossible to keep it in the air.

The purpose of the activity was helping everyone understand the weight of negativity and what it does to the collective group was powerful.

Capturing Kids' Hearts Ron Fox Welcomes In KFCS Staff During In-Service

jhjj

We welcome back all our staff as Klamath Falls City Schools had its district in-service at The Ross Ragland Theater Tuesday morning.

The event's keynote speaker came from Capturing Kids' Hearts Leadership Development Strategist, Ron Fox.

"I want you to take a picture of someone, either right now or later today, who is a projector of hope or joy," Fox said. "We need to find out where those people are and we need to celebrate them."

"There is not going to be an email sent, saying be a purveyor of hope today; I don't think that email is going to be coming back. There should not be a memo of having to say it ... you get to decide what that looks like. So if that looks like, on the way out, I am giving someone a high five that I don't even know, good for you."

"If it means next Tuesday, most importantly, when those kids come in, you say, I am so glad you are in my class, good for you."

What is the “Benadryl Challenge?”

sdfsdf

Primarily found social media platforms like TikTok, the “Benadryl challenge” encourages young people to take dangerous amounts of the over-the-counter (OTC) drug diphenhydramine (DHP), commonly found in products as Benadryl and other OTC medications.

The challenge urges viewers to take as many as 12 tablets at a time to supposedly induce hallucinations. For perspective, the maximum allowed dose in a 24-hour period is six tablets for children 6 to under 12 years of age and 12 tablets for adults and children over 12 years of age. Taking more than the recommended amount can lead to nausea, seizures or even death.

Following the report of an alleged overdose and death of one teen, as well as several reported hospitalizations, Benadryl maker Johnson & Johnson took action, issuing a warning about the challenge and working with social media platforms to remove harmful content. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) followed with a health warning about taking Benadryl at more than recommended doses. Several organizations partnered to educate parents and caregivers about the risks of online challenges and the importance of medication safety.
